Christ

My newfound style still needs to be honed and I'm sure that will come as I progress. I did this painting for a friend.

new mural images

This is where I have gotten to on the mural in Sanson, NZ which is approx 30 mins travelling distance from Palmerston North. I also painted the word 'PIZZA' on the side of the building (pictured). A mini will have a piece cut out of it and slotted into the corner of the wall to give an understanding as to why Mr Bean is being breathalyzed.

Mural commission

Well the last 3-4 days I've been working on creating a design for a mural commission which has now been agreed upon. Mr Bean, is being breathalyzed by an English policeman, who's car (a real car will have a 'v' cut from the front and slotted into the corner of the shop) will be the central focus of Mr Bean's unfortunate circumstance.

Cows horn review

After some consideration I have decided what was going to be mat parts of the carving will now be polished. My reasoning is based on when I went through the wet and dry sandpaper phase, the carving looked really good wet. I hope to have it all polished by the end of the weekend as I now need to sand where the mat was.

Parts washer

Today I received a parts washer that I had purchased on TradeMe. Although, I won't be using it to clean cart parts. I'm going to use it to carve my greenstone in. I should have taken a photo of it!!!! I also set up my bench grinder with polishing buff wheels and have sketched out some designs on the pieces of greenstone in preparation for the day I have all the equipment to start, what I hope to be, an illustrious career in carving.

Cows horn

Yesterday I bought some 2000 grit wet and dry sandpaper for the cows horn. I still need to make a curved flexible object so I can wrap sandpaper around it to sand in the grooves. From there I can polish the carving and begin working out how to add some wooden end pieces with Maori design on them before mounting on a Totara base.

Portrait

I have finished the painting of my Father, sister and myself. My father is happy with the painting and it has opened my eyes as to my style. I still have a long way to go but this is my own style. I also enjoy the fact of using o vibrant colours.  I can get used to this and I find this style not so stressful. I hope you like it too?

Latest update

So...... I've been working on a few different pieces of art over the last week which I hope to post here soon. The cows horn is almost at the sanding stage and from there it just needs a polish.
I've started working on the abstract flower again and I have just finished a painting of my Father, sister and myself in my unique style. Tony(my Dad) is coming to visit tomorrow so I can give it to him then.
I've also purchased some items for stone sculpture and am looking forward to using those. I will keep you updated.
