Two new bone carvings

Here are my latest bone carvings. One was based on the outer shape of a tear/raindrop so it's title is rain droplet. The other one I'm not sure what it looks like to others but it looks like a particular part of a male appendage. It is actually a contemporary designed fish hook (Hei Matau).

Pounamu(Greenstone)

It has been a long time since I have worked on this piece of Pounamu. I've spent the last few days shaping it. I believe I am not far off of going through the sanding process. Exciting stuff!!! This will also be my first Pounamu carving.

 I've included the early stage (right),which I have placed on here before to refresh your memory. As you can see I have made some changes above.

Some Signwriting

Here are a few signs I did for some businesses. "Raukawa Maori Wardens Association"and "Baby Plus" were commissions. I'm not a fan of sign writing as spacing etc is hard work for me but the end result turned out pretty good.

Dremel Moto saw

Tomorrow I'm off to purchase a dremel moto saw. I'm looking forward to putting it to use. The image shows what it looks like. You can see one working on you tube. I got the image off the net so hope I haven't broken any copyright laws.

 

Holiday has ended

After house sitting the past week I returned home today. It has been a slow week for me but worked on two bone carvings while I was away. I did take advantage of not doing much while away. Something I'm not used to doing. I hope to put up some new photo's soon. I hope everyone had a Happy New Year.
